Quick take

A compact collapsible rod rack that holds 3 rods safely without tangling lines or damaging guides.

The Rod-Runner Express 3 is a portable carrier that holds three rod-and-reel setups at an angle so lines and guides stay clear of each other. Two enclosed holders suit spinning or fly outfits, while an open holder handles baitcasters and conventional reels. It is molded from hardened ABS with a UV inhibitor, weighs about 2 pounds, and comes with removable tripod legs, base plates and bungee cords. Handy for anglers hauling rods to the boat, kayak or beach in a truck or SUV.

Best for

Transporting multiple rigged rods in vehicles and boats
Keeping rods organized at the fishing site
Anglers with several spinning or baitcasting reels

Skip if

You fish with only one rod at a time
You need hard protection for fragile rods in rough travel

Strengths

Hardened ABS with UV inhibitor is durable in sun and salt
Collapsible design makes storage and transport compact
Holds light or heavy tackle equally well

Trade-offs

Soft ABS offers less protection than hard rod cases
Portable design means rods are exposed at the fishing site
Requires space in vehicle trunk or boat to store when not in use
