Quick take
An 18 inch polyurethane deck mount strap that securely holds rods in place during transport while resisting UV and salt exposure.
The Rod Tamer 18" deck mount is a black polyurethane strap that holds rods in place on a boat, whether you are running or sitting at anchor. It screws to the deck, which suits aluminum or foam-filled fiberglass hulls where a gunwale mount will not work. The cord is UV and chemical resistant and keeps rods from snagging hooks.
Best for
- Holding multiple rods on boat or vehicle decks
- Preventing rod tangling and line snags underway
- Saltwater boating where UV resistance matters
Skip if
- You want rigid rod holders instead of straps
- You fish small kayaks requiring compact storage
Strengths
- Polyurethane resists UV degradation and saltwater chemicals
- Strap design allows quick loading and unloading
- Black color stays discreet on boat decks
Trade-offs
- Polyurethane straps offer less protection than hard holders
- 18 inches limits the number of rods per strap
- Straps may loosen slightly underway on rough water
Fishing fit
- Water
- Saltwater
- Freshwater
