Quick take
An adjustable webbing belt with loops for rods and D-rings for gear, designed to free your hands while fishing.
This is a waist belt that holds a fishing rod at your hip so your hands stay free for changing lures, retying or unhooking a fish. The webbing and plastic belt adjusts in length to fit different body sizes, and swivel hooks and D-rings give you spots to hang small tools like scissors or a towel. It is sold as the belt only, without a rod, and suits bank anglers who want to keep a rod handy while they move around.
Best for
- Shore fishing and wading
- Night fishing where you need hands free
- Carrying multiple rods, tools and small items
Skip if
- You fish from a boat where rod storage is built-in
- You prefer keeping all gear in a vest or pack
Strengths
- Swivel hooks prevent tangling and reduce stress on gear
- Adjustable fit works for different body sizes
- D-rings and hooks accommodate various tools and accessories
Trade-offs
- Waist wear may become uncomfortable on long trips
- No padding means rods dig into the hip under weight
- Swivel hooks require more maintenance than fixed attachment points
