Quick take
Fingerless gloves with UPF 50+ sun protection, microfiber-reinforced palms, and breathable venting for sensitive rigging and handling fish in bright sun.
These RUNCL fingerless gloves are a UPF 50+ sun layer for anglers who want their fingertips free for knots, rigging and handling fish. An extended cuff covers the wrist, and a vented palm with quick-drying poly-spandex fabric helps keep hands comfortable on hot days. Silicone-enhanced fingers and a hook-and-loop wrist closure suit kayak and boat fishing.
Best for
- Long days in intense sun where bare hands burn quickly
- Kayak and flats fishing where dexterity for rigging stays sharp
- Anglers with sensitive skin who cannot go bare-handed
Skip if
- You fish primarily in shade or dawn and dusk; full UV protection is not needed
- You need full-finger protection for cold water; these are sun-protective only
Strengths
- UPF 50+ blocks nearly all UV without blocking fingertip dexterity
- Microfiber palms reduce grip fatigue when setting hooks repeatedly
- Extended cuff prevents sun exposure on wrist and forearm
Trade-offs
- Half-finger design offers no protection if sleeves ride up or separate from shirt
- Poly-spandex dries slowly if soaked, staying cold longer than bare skin
- Sizing is specific; a poor fit bunches or slips during rigging
