Quick take
A 6-in-1 multi-tool with tungsten carbide cutters for mono, fluoro, and braided line.
This gray and green SAMSFX tool packs a tungsten carbide line cutter, a quick knot tyer, a hook sharpener and a hook eye cleaner into a light aluminum body. A spring-loaded, lockable design lets you work it one-handed, and a 24-inch cord retractor keeps it clipped to your vest or belt. It suits anglers who want one compact tool on the water for trimming mono, fluorocarbon or braid and tidying tackle.
Best for
- Managing terminal tackle at the water
- Adjusting lures and rigs on the fly
- Anglers fishing multiple line types
Skip if
- You want a dedicated heavy-duty line cutter only
- You need maximum portability without attachment
Strengths
- Tungsten carbide blades cut mono, fluoro, and braided line cleanly
- Spring-loaded design allows one-handed operation during fishing
- Zinger retractor keeps tools accessible so nothing is lost
Trade-offs
- Multi-tool design means each function is general-purpose, not specialized
- Carbide cutters eventually dull with repeated heavy use
- Small size makes it easy to misplace if retractor snaps
