Quick take
A 10-pack of foam boards with retaining pins for storing pre-tied leaders, snelled hooks and rig setups.
These small foam boards let you wrap up snelled hooks, pre-tied leaders and spare line so rigs stay untangled in a tackle bag or vest pocket. Each board is about 14 centimeters long with slots at both ends, and the set comes with retaining pins for holding line in place. Floating, quick-drying foam makes them a handy way to keep fly leaders and hook rigs organized.
Best for
- Fly fishers organizing pre-tied leaders and tippet
- Bait fishers storing snelled hooks and sabiki rigs
- Keeping tackle organized in a fishing vest pocket
Skip if
- You store tackle in a large box where foam boards take too much space
- You tie leaders on the water and do not stock pre-tied ones
Strengths
- Foam floats and dries quickly for easy field use
- Retaining pins keep leaders from unraveling
- Compact boards fit easily into vest pockets
- Multi-color boards help organize by type or size
Trade-offs
- Foam can degrade over time with UV and heat exposure
- Small board size limits storage to a few leaders each
- Retaining pins can puncture fingers if handled carelessly

- Fly fishing
