Quick take
A rubber-coated landing net with telescoping fiberglass pole extending from 37 to 98.4 inches for flexible reach.
A folding landing net with a telescoping fiberglass handle that reaches about 98 inches, handy for landing fish from a boat, kayak, bank or pier. The hoop is roughly 20 by 21 inches with a deep, rubber-coated nylon mesh that is gentle on fish for catch and release. It collapses down for carrying and clips to a belt or pack.
Best for
- Wading in streams and rivers where pole length varies
- Bank and pier fishing where you need variable reach
- Kayak fishing with an easily stowed, compact handle
Skip if
- You fish deep water requiring fixed long reach
- You need a rigid net for boating near motors
Strengths
- Rubber-coated mesh prevents water absorption and tangling
- Telescoping design extends 37 to 98.4 inches on demand
- Soft mesh surface does not harm fish during catch and release
Trade-offs
- Fiberglass is less rigid than aluminum; flexing weakens joints
- Quick-open lock requires tuning to find the right tension
- Folds when in storage; persistent crease marks result
