Quick take
Telescopic gaff with spear hook extends from 17 to 47 inches for boat and shore fishing.
A telescoping fish gaff with an aluminum pole and a stainless steel spear hook, built for landing big fish from a boat or through an ice hole. It collapses to about 44 cm for carrying and extends to roughly 120 cm, with a rubber-covered handle for grip. At 8.8 ounces, it is a light pole for anglers who want a compact gaff for saltwater or ice trips.
Best for
- Saltwater offshore fishing where reach is essential
- Boats where compact storage is important
- Ice fishing through holes for extended reach
Skip if
- You fish only small fish in shallow water
Strengths
- Telescopic design stores in 17 inches but reaches 47 inches when deployed
- Stainless steel hook resists saltwater corrosion
- Aluminum alloy handle with rubber grip stays stable when wet
- Spear hook design works for both netting and piercing
Trade-offs
- Telescopic mechanism can jam if sand or salt builds up
- Extended length at 47 inches is awkward to handle on boats
- Aluminum-rubber construction is heavier than carbon fiber gaffs
Fishing fit
- Water
- Saltwater
- Freshwater
