Quick take

A 30-pound clear fluorocarbon leader spool for tying terminal rigs on braided or monofilament main line.

This clear fluorocarbon line is rated at 30 lb and comes on a 15-meter (49.2 ft) spool. Its single-strand build in a clear color suits anglers who fish leaders and shock sections for bass, walleye and other gamefish. It is a practical pick for a 30 lb setup that calls for a fluorocarbon leader of that length.

Best for

  • Clear water where fish see the line
  • Saltwater fishing where abrasion resistance is needed
  • Anglers using braided main line who need a mono or fluoro leader

Skip if

  • Very fast-current water where fluorocarbon may knot poorly

Strengths

  • Fluorocarbon is nearly invisible in clear water
  • Abrasion-resistant and sinks faster than mono
  • 15-meter spool provides multiple leaders

Trade-offs

  • Fluorocarbon is stiff and harder to tie knots with
  • Clear color is not ideal for murky water

  • Freshwater
  • Saltwater
