Quick take
Two-pack of leather bottle holders that organize and protect fly floatant, desiccants and small accessory bottles during wading.
This is a pair of leather holders made to carry a fly floatant bottle on your gear. Each one is a compact, flat piece about 5.5 by 4.2 inches that weighs well under an ounce. It suits fly anglers who want dry-fly treatment within quick reach on the water.
Best for
- Fly anglers who rely on floatant for dry fly buoyancy throughout the day
- Keeping bottles organized in a fishing vest or pack
- Protecting floatant bottles from cracking or leaking
Skip if
- You tie your flies on a rock and do not need constant floatant access
- You prefer plastic or synthetic material
Strengths
- Leather develops character over time and feels quality in hand
- Compact size organizes small bottles in vest pockets
- Two-pack covers floatant and desiccant or backup bottles
Trade-offs
- Leather requires occasional conditioning to prevent cracking
- Wet leather is heavy and takes time to dry
- Floatant solvent may eventually degrade leather over years
