Quick take
A magnetic fly net holder with a super-long retractable lanyard that keeps your net within reach during wading.
A magnetic net release that clips a landing net to your vest or pack and lets go with a gentle pull. The green magnet pairs with a black aluminum alloy hook on a coiled steel-wire lanyard that rests around 17 inches and stretches out to about 100 inches. It suits fly anglers who want both hands free while wading and a quick way to detach the net when a fish is ready to land.
Best for
- Fly fishing where both hands stay free until you need the net
- Wade fishing on rivers where the net must stay secure yet accessible
- Anglers who lose or forget nets frequently
Skip if
- You plan to land fish by hand
- You want a static, non-retractable net holder
Strengths
- Powerful magnets hold the net through the entire fight
- Retractable lanyard gives 100 inches of reach without tangling
- Aviation aluminum resists corrosion in freshwater
Trade-offs
- Extending lanyard can snag on brush or branches during wading
- Saltwater exposure will corrode aluminum over time
- The net must be metal-framed or mesh-attached for magnets to work
