Quick take
Clear nylon fly fishing tippet on a spool holder with clip attachment system.
This is a clear monofilament nylon tippet set for fly fishing, with 30 meters on each spool in 0X, 1X, 2X and 3X sizes. The four spools come on a stand with a spool holder and clip, so changing sizes at the water is simple. Fly anglers and tenkara fishers who want a range of leader diameters in one package will find it a handy fit.
Best for
- Fly fishing streams and rivers where tippet replacement is regular
- Anglers using balanced fly leader systems
- Situations where thin invisible line improves strike rates
Skip if
- You use braided core fly line
- You prefer ready-made leaders
Strengths
- Clear monofilament is less visible to fish than colored tippet
- Light weight maintains delicate fly presentation
- Spool holder and clip system keeps tippet organized and accessible
- Balanced elasticity and knot strength combination
Trade-offs
- Monofilament is less durable than fluorocarbon tippet
- 30 meters is a limited supply for frequent fishing
- Clear nylon absorbs light and becomes brittle over time
