Quick take
A waterproof canvas rod bag with exterior rod holders and side pockets for carrying rods and tackling gear on fishing trips.
This Shaddock Fishing rod bag is a 48-inch carry case in khaki green, made of 600D Oxford fabric. Outside straps hold up to five rods with reels attached, while the main compartment and side utility pocket take tackle and other gear. It carries by hand or on an adjustable shoulder strap and folds down to slip into a backpack, which suits anglers who travel to the water.
Best for
- Transporting multiple rods and reels to fishing destinations
- Protecting gear during travel by air or car
- Storing rods and tackle boxes together
Skip if
- You fish primarily from a boat with built-in storage
- You need a smaller day pack for single rod
Strengths
- 600D Oxford fabric is waterproof and durable
- Exterior rod holders secure five rods in place
- Large capacity holds rods, reels, tackle boxes and personal gear
Trade-offs
- Large size makes it awkward to carry and store
- Waterproof material can trap condensation inside
- No ventilation means wet rods may mildew if packed damp
