Quick take
Three-piece baitcasting combo designed for travel and responsive bass fishing.
This Shakespeare Agility is a 6'6" three-piece baitcasting combo with a medium-power, fast-action rod and a low profile reel. It packs into a travel bag, so it suits anglers who carry gear on the road and target bass. The reel has a 6.11 gear ratio, magnetic braking and a multi-disc star drag that tops out at 15 lb, with a split EVA grip for the right hand.
Best for
- Traveling anglers who want a compact outfit
- Bass in lakes and rivers
- Flipping and pitching with precision
Skip if
- You dislike three-piece rods; sensitivity can suffer at joints
- You fish deep structure; fast action is light
Strengths
- Three pieces disassemble for backpack travel
- Aluminum spool reduces weight for comfort
- Fast action gives good feedback on bass bites
Trade-offs
- Three-piece construction adds weight and complexity
- Graphite composite is lighter than fiberglass but less durable
- Fast action is sensitive but fatigues your wrist in long sessions
