Quick take
A mid-size spinning reel featuring Shimano's HAGANE cold-forged gear and Cross Carbon drag for smooth power and durability across freshwater and light saltwater.
The Shimano Sedona 4000 is a mid-size spinning reel built around Shimano's HAGANE cold-forged gear and a G-Free body that moves the reel's balance point closer to the rod. A 6.2:1 gear ratio brings in roughly 39 inches of line per turn. Its size suits freshwater casting with 10 to 12 pound mono and also works for lighter inshore trips.
Best for
- Casting and light jigging for medium-size fish
- Anglers transitioning from small to mid-range reels
- Freshwater bass and pike, light saltwater species

Strengths
- HAGANE gear technology provides long-lasting smoothness under load
