Quick take
A size 4000 high-speed surf fishing reel with quick line recovery for casting into waves and wind.
The Shimano 21 Twin Power XD 4000XG is a spinning reel built around the 4000 size, aimed at surf fishing and other open-water casting. It weighs 8.6 oz and has a 6.2:1 gear ratio that brings in about 39.8 inches of line per turn of the handle, so slack comes in quickly when a lure is pushed around by waves or wind. Ten ball bearings and a roller sit inside, with a carbon cross washer drag that reaches 24.3 lb at its maximum.
