Quick take
Mid-size spinning reel with 6.2:1 gear ratio and 11 kg drag for general-purpose shore casting.
This Shimano spinning reel is a C5000XG, a large body with a 6.2:1 gear ratio that takes in about 40 inches of line per handle turn. It weighs 11.2 oz and carries a 13.2 lb practical drag, with a maximum of 23.3 lbs. The handle is ambidextrous, so it fits either hand. It suits shore casting and general-purpose saltwater work, such as sea bass from the surf or rocks.
