Quick take
A low-profile baitcaster with an ultra-thin MGL spool designed to reduce inertia and improve casting distance on lighter lures.
This is a right-hand low-profile baitcaster in the 150 size with a fast 8.1:1 gear ratio, built around a magnesium CoreSolid body. An ultra-thin MGL III spool keeps inertia low for casting lighter lures, and MicroModule gearing smooths out the retrieve. It suits bass anglers who work moving baits and want quick line pickup, with up to 11 pounds of drag.
Best for
- Pitching and flipping near cover with lightweight baits
- Anglers who want increased casting distance with finesse lures
- Freshwater bass and pike fishing
Skip if
- You plan saltwater use; magnesium spools corrode in salt
- You fish heavy baits where heavier spool weight helps with momentum
Strengths
- MGL spool reduces moment of inertia by 15 percent for lighter lure feel
- Magnesium CoreSolid body delivers rigidity without flex
- X-Ship technology supports the pinion gear on both ends for durability
Trade-offs
- Not recommended for saltwater due to magnesium alloy corrosion
- Low-profile design may feel small for anglers with large hands
- Higher gear ratios require technique to avoid overspinning on lighter lures
