Quick take
A large saltwater spinning reel with Shimano's Infinity Drive technology that increases winding torque by up to thirty percent.
This is the size 6000 HG version of the Saragosa SW A, a saltwater spinning reel with a 5.7:1 gear ratio and a 455 gram body. Infinity Drive adds winding torque under load, and a Cross Carbon drag and X-Protect sealing with an IPX8 rating are built in for salt water. It suits anglers working inshore and nearshore waters who want a compact reel with a metal body and HAGANE gear.
Best for
- Saltwater inshore and offshore casting and jigging
- Targeting large saltwater game fish including tarpon and big stripers
- Anglers who fish varying depths and conditions
Skip if
- You fish exclusively freshwater
- You want a compact lightweight reel
Strengths
- Infinity Drive increases winding torque by thirty percent under load for easier fighting
- Cross Carbon drag provides the widest range of settings and smoothest performance
- HAGANE body and gearing resist corrosion and flex under pressure
Trade-offs
- Large reel is heavy and requires arm strength for extended sessions
- Five point seven to one gear ratio is slow; line recovery takes multiple cranks
- Thirty-three pound drag is adequate for medium to large fish but not extreme trophy species
