Quick take
A Shimano Stradic spinning reel with MicroModule II and Silent Drive 2 for smooth, quiet retrieves, plus extended spool for better casting performance.
The Shimano Stradic FL in size 1000 is a compact spinning reel with an aluminum handle and a 5.11 gear ratio. It weighs about 185 grams and carries 6+1 ball bearings, so it suits light spinning setups for freshwater and light saltwater use. Anglers stepping up from entry-level reels will find a long-stroke spool aimed at easier casting.
