Quick take
Aircraft-grade pliers with a firm fish lip gripper for unhooking fish and handling tackle without injury.
This Sidomma set pairs a multi-function pair of fishing pliers with a lip gripper, plus a sheath and a lanyard. The pliers handle hook removal, line cutting, split rings and crimping sleeves, while the gripper lets you hold a fish by the mouth with one hand. Both are anodized aluminum, weigh 7.8 ounces together and measure 8 inches long, so the kit is easy to carry for freshwater or saltwater trips.
Best for
- Removing hooks from toothy fish and difficult positions
- Splitting rings and crimping sleeves on live-bait rigs
- Anglers who want to land fish without bare-hand contact
Skip if
- You only fish with catch-and-release circle hooks
- You need serrated jaws for gripping small soft baits
Strengths
- Lightweight aluminum body cuts weight without sacrificing durability
- Lip gripper holds the mouth securely with one hand
- CNC-cut handles reduce fatigue during extended use
Trade-offs
- Anodized aluminum can scratch with rough handling
- The pliers jaws are narrow, limiting use on very large hooks
- Lanyard attachment point takes up tackle space
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
