Quick take
Flat disc sinkers designed to stay in place on bottom against current and waves.
This pack of ten coin-shaped disc sinkers comes in the 1 oz size, with a stainless steel eyelet for clipping onto a sinker slide. The flat, round body is meant to rest on the bottom and hold bait in surf and current, and the same weight suits pompano and croaker in the surf or catfish and bass in rivers.
Best for
- Surf fishing with heavy waves
- River and moving-water bottom fishing
- Holding bait in strong currents
Skip if
- Areas where sensitivity matters
- Shallow water casting
Strengths
- Flat shape prevents rolling and keeps bait in place on bottom
- Stainless steel eyelet accepts sinker slides and standard rigging
- Multiple sizes support various water conditions and distances
Trade-offs
- Round flat profile sinks slower than streamlined shapes
- May spook sensitive species in clear water
- Corrosion risk in saltwater despite stainless eyelet
