Quick take
A large, well-organized backpack designed to carry four standard tackle boxes and rods for all-day hike-in fishing trips.
This 40-liter fishing backpack carries tackle, rods and trail supplies in one soft-shell daypack. Its main compartment takes four 3600-size tackle boxes with a foldable divider, and two rod holders, MOLLE webbing and a side pocket for a water bottle keep gear within reach. The polyester and PVC shell is water resistant, and the padded back panel suits hike-ins to trout streams or walks along the beach.
Best for
- Remote trout stream hikes
- Surf fishing with multiple rod setups
- Walk-in trips where you need to carry everything
Skip if
- You fish from a boat with a central tackle station
- You prefer a compact day pack with minimal gear
Strengths
- Main compartment holds four 3600-size tackle boxes with room to spare
- Padded back panel and breathable design for day-long comfort
- Multiple pockets organize rods, sunglasses, tools, and water bottle
Trade-offs
- At full capacity it becomes heavy to carry miles
- The 40L size is bulky for anglers fishing close to shore
- Heavy-duty polyester is not lightweight for backpacking distance
