Quick take
A pungent garlic scent gel that attracts bottom feeders and baitfish when applied to your line or bait.
Smelly Jelly's Garlic Pro Guide Formula comes as a 4-ounce jar of gel for anglers who want scent on their lures. It is made to draw fish to the bait, to mask the smell of handled tackle and to keep fish near the bait longer. It suits anglers rigging jigs, worms and soft plastics for bass and other game fish.
Best for
- Bottom-fishing for catfish and carp where scent drives feeding
- Live-bait rigs to enhance the natural attractant already present
- Muddy or low-visibility water where fish rely more on smell than sight
Skip if
- You fish clear water where visual lures work better
- You prefer unscented techniques; some fish respond better without added scent
Strengths
- Garlic scent disperses in water and attracts fish from a distance
- Gel form stays in place through multiple casts and fish handling
- Works in both freshwater and saltwater environments
Trade-offs
- Scent can be overpowering and deter some fish if applied too heavily
- Gel residue can stick to your hands and requires thorough washing
- Not effective for sight-feeding species like bass that hunt by appearance

- Freshwater
- Saltwater
