Quick take
A floating plastic lip gripper that holds fish up to 100 pounds, sized 7.5 or 9 inches with a lanyard.
A lightweight plastic lip gripper in green-gray that floats if it slips out of your hand, with a wrist lanyard to keep it tethered. It opens and closes one-handed and uses a smooth, non-serrated jaw that is gentler on a fish's mouth. The plastic body suits freshwater and saltwater, which makes it a handy tool for kayak, jon boat and bank anglers handling bass and catfish.
Best for
- Kayak and boat fishing where dropping gear is a risk
- Handling bass and catfish safely
- Bank fishing with hands-free operation
Skip if
- You need to release fish with minimal handling
- You prefer a non-floating gripper for tight grip control
Strengths
- Floats on water if accidentally dropped
- Non-damaging jaw design does not injure fish mouths
- One-handed operation for easy handling
Trade-offs
- Plastic jaws may wear with repeated use on large fish
- Floating design may catch extra current on running water
- Attachment point is relatively light
