Quick take
A pair of twelve-inch aluminum and stainless steel hook removers with T-shaped handles for various fishing situations.
This is a two-piece set of 12-inch fish hook removers with a T-shaped handle, built from aluminum and stainless steel. The curved tip hooks the line so you can twist and release a hook with one hand, keeping your fingers clear of the fish. It suits freshwater and saltwater trips alike, from bass fishing to ice fishing, and the second tool gives you a spare or one to share.
Best for
- Sea fishing for large species
- Ice fishing and carp fishing
- Having backup removal tools available
Skip if
- You prefer compact tools for pocket carry
- You fish in spaces with limited clearance
Strengths
- Two-piece set provides redundancy if one tool is lost
- Twelve-inch length reaches deeply set hooks
- T-shaped handle is intuitive and easy to operate
- Hyperbolic design aids in hook removal
Trade-offs
- Twelve inches is relatively long to transport
- Single-purpose tool with no cutting or splitting function
- Not effective for small fish hooks
