Quick take
A 2.95 in hard bait minnow lure with internal metal ball for casting distance.
A five-lure box of slim, flat-bodied vibration baits with treble hooks and a steel ball inside for casting distance and extra rattle. They swim through the full water column on a steady retrieve, which suits bass, trout, walleye and redfish. A good way to try several colors without buying separate lures.
Best for
- Open water casting where distance matters
- Trolling or retrieve-heavy presentations
- Targeting aggressive fish in mid-water depths
Skip if
- You fish very shallow water near the surface
- You need extreme casting accuracy over distance
Strengths
- Metal ball inside improves casting distance on heavy line
- Hard ABS body resists puncture from teeth and scales
- Vivid eyes and realistic detail attract predatory strikes
Trade-offs
- 2.95 in profile is small and may not attract large fish
- Hard bait body cannot compress for quiet entry like soft plastics
- Internal ball makes the lure less maneuverable than soft baits

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
