Quick take
Fast-action casting rod with twin tips so you can fish medium or medium-heavy power with a single rod.
This 5.9 ft two-piece casting rod comes with two tips, medium and medium heavy, so one blank can cover lighter and heavier lures. The fast action and carbon blank suit bass, walleye and similar freshwater fishing. An EVA foam grip and a spigot joint between the sections round out a compact rod that travels easily.
Best for
- Bass fishing with crankbaits and spinnerbaits
- Freshwater jigging and flipping
- Tournament-style casting
Skip if
- You need a spinning setup; the Spinning-Red version is also available
- You fish ultralight line; this is built for heavier tackle
Strengths
- Spigot joint design maintains power through the blank when bent
- Twin tips let you switch fishing styles without carrying two rods
- 30-ton carbon blank is light and responsive
Trade-offs
- Twin tips means each tip is slightly thinner than a dedicated power rod
- Medium-heavy power is too stiff for finesse techniques
- Fast action takes practice to time the hook set
