Quick take
A 3/4 oz white bucktail jig with a distinctive head design and sharp Gamakatsu hook for saltwater species.
This 3/4-ounce SPRO bucktail jig comes in white, with a hair body built to swim with a flowing profile when worked off the bottom. Its line tie sits on top of the head rather than the nose, which keeps the body level while drifting and suits vertical jigging. Anglers often pair it with a soft plastic or strip bait trailer when fishing for fluke. It suits anyone wanting a simple bucktail for inshore and coastal bottom fishing.
Best for
- Jigging weakfish and fluke over structure
- Saltwater bottom fishing
- Near-shore jig-and-retrieve
Skip if
- You fish in shallow weeds
- You need lighter lures for small fish
Strengths
- Gamakatsu razor-sharp hook penetrates hard mouths
- Eyelet position makes the jig glide rather than drop straight
- Hackle tail moves even on slow retrieves
Trade-offs
- 3/4 oz may be heavy for finesse techniques

- Bucktail is not as durable as synthetic trailers

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
