Quick take

Standard-size fly-tying hackle pliers with ergonomic push-button grip for holding hackle, thread, and wire at the vise.

Best for

  • Tying dry flies and wet flies
  • Securing cock hackles at the hook
  • Holding dubbing and synthetic materials

Skip if

  • You tie only tiny hooks under size 14
  • You prefer tweezers to pliers

Strengths

  • Push-button grip requires minimal hand fatigue
  • Works with hackles, thread, tinsel, and wire equally
  • Standard size fits most hook ranges

Trade-offs

  • Plastic handle can wear and develop sharp edges
