Quick take
Neoprene gloves with micro-fleece lining for grip and dexterity in cold and wet fishing conditions.
This is the X-Large Stormr Strykr, a black neoprene glove with a micro-fleece lining and 2mm of material through the body. A hook-and-loop wrist strap lets you snug the fit, and the seams are glued and blind-stitched for cold, wet, windy days on the water. It suits anglers who want full hand coverage for ice fishing or foul-weather trips.
Best for
- Winter fishing when water or air temperature is near or below freezing
- Ice fishing and any angling in foul weather
- Situations where hand grip and feel matter despite cold hands
Skip if
- You fish in warm water or mild weather
- You need maximum tactile sensitivity with bare skin
Strengths
- Watertight seams keep hands dry during extended water contact
- Neoprene with fleece lining traps body heat
- Textured palm and finger material provides secure grip even when wet
Trade-offs
- Neoprene reduces fine motor control compared to bare hands or thin gloves
- Glued construction can eventually separate with heavy use
- Not effective in extremely cold conditions below neoprene ratings
