Quick take
A 3.5-inch soft jerkbait made of durable Elaztech plastic, floats high, and excels on drop-shot rigs for finesse bass presentations.
The Strike King 3X Baby Z Too is a 3.5 inch soft jerkbait in a Pearl Blue Glimmer Back finish, sold as a pack of 5. It is molded from salt-impregnated Elaztech plastic and has a belly slot for rigging. Bass anglers can nose-hook it on a light dropshot hook or fish it on standard jerkbait setups.
Best for
- Drop-shot fishing on pressured bass over open water
- Subtle twitching presentations that mimic small fish
- Situations where standard jerkbaits get destroyed
Skip if
- You fish heavy vegetation
- You want a sinking presentation
Strengths
- Elaztech plastic is extremely durable and resists tearing
- High buoyancy floats up on slack line for wacky rigging
- Smaller profile and high shine trigger bites in clear water
Trade-offs
- Softer plastic is less snappy than hard-plastic jerkbaits
- Requires lighter line to achieve proper action
- High flotation may impede casting distance

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
