Quick take
A soft plastic drop shot bait with coffee scent and salt impregnation designed for finesse presentations.
The Strike King Drop Shot Half Shell in Green Pumpkin comes nine to a pack, with each bait 3.5 inches long. Its ridged, flexible body and spear-shaped tail with two fins give it a darting action, and the flat underside keeps it level once hooked. It works on a drop shot rig, or Texas-rigged through brush and grass.
Best for
- Cold fronts or tough bite days
- Drop shot rigs in tight cover or open water
- Anglers who want scent to mask human smell and keep fish holding
Skip if
- You prefer unscented baits or natural colors
- You fish fast-moving lure presentations
Strengths
- Coffee scent and salt create taste triggers that keep bass holding the bite longer
- Open Pour Technology finish and bulky profile enhance realistic appearance
- Half shell body design works well rigged on drop shot hooks
Trade-offs
- Coffee scent dissipates after several casts; replacement lures needed frequently
- Soft plastic tears easily in brush or on rocks

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
