Quick take
A 6 inch hollow-body topwater lure with a pointed nose for skipping under lily pads and making realistic perch-like splashing action.
The black Hack Attack Pad Perch is a half-ounce hollow-body topwater for anglers working lily pads, brush and thick grass. Its tapered nose slides through dense cover, and its long rubber skirt suits both fast and slow retrieves. It suits bass anglers who want a walking topwater for heavy cover.
Best for
- Lily pad fields and thick weed cover
- Topwater fishing for aggressive bass
- Skip-casting under overhanging dock structures
Skip if
- You fish open water away from cover
- You need a lure that tracks straight
Strengths
- Pointed nose design cuts through dense vegetation where frogs hang up
- Hollow body creates splash and splutter action on retrieve
- Collapsible double hook design for better hook-ups when bass strikes
Trade-offs
- Hollow body can collect water and require draining between casts
- 6 inch size requires heavier rod than smaller topwater lures
- Requires precise skip-casting technique to work in dense cover

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
