Quick take
A 6 inch hollow body topwater lure with double hook and collapsible body, designed to skip through thick lily pads and brush.
The Hack Attack Pad Perch is a hollow-body topwater frog that weighs half an ounce and is sized to mimic a large panfish. Its tapered nose and long rubber skirt suit fishing through lily pads and thick vegetation, and a double frog hook holds fish on the surface. It gives bass anglers a bait built for working heavy cover.
Best for
- Fishing thick vegetation and shallow cover
- Skipping lures under overhanging branches
- Bass in weed mats and pad fields
Skip if
- You fish open water
- You need silent presentations
Strengths
- Pointed nose cuts through thick cover easier than rounded designs
- Collapsible body compacts on hookset for better hold
- Double hook design handles short aggressive strikes
Trade-offs
- Heavy construction limits long casts on light tackle
- Hollow body design can trap weeds and debris
- Noisy action not suitable for pressured fish
