Quick take

A 4-inch soft grub with twin tails and crazy tail action for bass on jigs, rigs and trailers.

A 4-inch soft plastic grub with two beaver-style tails, sold eight to a pack in Green Pumpkin. It suits bass anglers who want one bait to rig several ways, whether as a jig trailer, on a jighead, or on a Texas or Carolina rig. The twin tails keep moving at slow fall and retrieve speeds.

Best for

  • Jig trailers that amplify tail action and profile
  • Texas and Carolina rigs in heavy cover
  • Slow presentations in grass and brush

Skip if

  • You fish topwater lures
  • You need larger swimbaits for pike or catfish

Strengths

  • Twin tails generate lifelike swimming action at slow speeds
  • Versatile 4-inch size works on jig heads, Texas rigs and as a trailer
  • Proven colors match common forage in bass lakes

Trade-offs

  • Soft plastic tears after a few fish, requiring frequent replacement
  • Twin tails tangle on vegetation and make hookups occasionally difficult
  • 4 inches limits appeal to panfish and other small species

About this type

A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.

Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.

Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
