Quick take
The Strike King Shim-E-Stick is a 5-inch stick bait in Sweet Tater Pie that sinks with a shimmy as it falls. It can be rigged weightless, Texas-style or wacky-style, so it suits anglers who like a light, finesse presentation.
Best for
- Bass on finesse rigs
- Wacky rigging in clear water
- Slow presentations in shallow lakes
Skip if
- You need a floating stick bait; this sinks fast
- You want no salt flavoring; this has salt impregnation
Strengths
- Salt impregnation creates fast sink rate without extra weight
- Flexible material gives superior action compared to hard sticks
- Great color selection with realistic natural patterns
Trade-offs
- Salt coating eventually washes off with heavy use
- Soft material tears with fish teeth and covers
- Not as durable as hard crankbaits

About this type
