Quick take
Size 2/0 trailer hooks with locking caps designed to add to spinnerbaits and buzzbaits.
This four-pack of size 2/0 needle-point trailer hooks from Strike King is made to ride behind spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, and it also suits topwater frogs. A cap on the hook eye locks it in place, so the trailer stays where you set it. It is a simple add-on for bass anglers who want a back-up hook on their wire baits.
Best for
- Adding to spinnerbait and buzzbait lures
- Topwater frog trailers
- Increasing hook-up ratio on bladed baits
Skip if
- You fish only single-hook lures
- You prefer lightweight lures without trailers
Strengths
- Locking cap holds the hook firmly in place during casting
- Needle point penetrates quickly on the strike
Trade-offs
- Adding a trailer increases drag and wind resistance
- Locking cap design makes the hook harder to reposition
