Quick take
A superior monofilament ranked by Sport Fishing Magazine for exceptional strength and abrasion resistance.
Sufix Superior is a copolymer monofilament line, and this version is the clear 20 lb test on a 1 lb spool of roughly 2,670 yards. Mono's controlled stretch helps absorb head shakes and set hooks on a casting setup. It suits anglers who want one big spool to respool several reels or tie leaders from.
Best for
- Anglers seeking the highest tensile strength mono available
- Both freshwater and saltwater fishing
- Situations where line strength is critical
Skip if
- You want the lowest stretch line; mono has inherent stretch
- You need absolute maximum invisibility; use fluorocarbon
Strengths
- Incredibly high tensile strength relative to diameter
- Controlled stretch provides fast recovery for hook setting
- Exceptional abrasion resistance in tough conditions
Trade-offs
- Stretch makes it less sensitive than braided or fluorocarbon
- Still visible in clear water despite quality
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
