Quick take
Adjustable elastic rod straps for securing fishing rods to deck mounts on boats and kayaks.
This Sumind set holds fishing rods down on a boat or kayak deck with stretchy 12-inch polyurethane straps. Each kit has four straps with locking shock cord hooks, fixed ends, pad eyes and screws, so you can mount several rods at once. The cord length adjusts and the excess can be trimmed, which suits anglers who want rods secured while moving between spots.
Best for
- Boats and kayaks with deck mount pad eyes
- Securing rods during travel and rough water
- Setting up ready rods while fishing
Skip if
- You need rigid rod holders for active fishing
- Your pad eyes or deck mount points lack proper spacing
Strengths
- Elastic design flexibly accommodates various rod diameters
- Shock cord hooks provide soft, non-marring connection
- Adjustable length allows secure fit without excess material
Trade-offs
- Elastic eventually loses stretch from sun exposure and age
- Not suitable for active holding during intense fighting
- Requires pre-installed deck mount hardware
