Quick take

A 1200-meter braided line rated for 50 pounds test with 5-color bands every 20 meters, designed for slow pitch jigging offshore.

Sunline's Saltimate Jigger ULT set gives slow pitch jig anglers a braided PE line in a 50 lb, No. 3 strength. The 1,200 m spool is divided into five 20 m colors, so you can track how much line is out and judge depth as you fish. It suits anglers who want a thin, low-stretch braid for working jigs in deep water.

Best for

  • Deep water jigging for offshore species like tuna and pelagics
  • Slow pitch jigging where depth feedback is critical
  • Anglers who make long fishing trips where high line capacity is essential

Skip if

  • You fish in freshwater lakes
  • You need line for casting light lures

Strengths

  • 1200-meter capacity allows extended vertical jigging without running out of line
  • 5-color pattern every 20 meters provides precise depth feedback during vertical retrieves
  • Ultra-low stretch PE construction transmits jig action and bites clearly

Trade-offs

  • 50-pound test is heavy and best for offshore fish; may overwhelm light saltwater species
  • Slow pitch jigging requires specific depth-sensing technique and experience
  • No information on whether the line is suitable for mackerel or sharks
