Quick take

A compact multi-tool combining fishing essentials from hook removal to scale-scraping and fish measurement.

This Swiss Ascent multitool folds a hook remover, bait cutter, scale scraper, scissors, knife, flashlight, tape measure, weight scale, bottle opener and stand into one stainless steel body. It measures about 10 by 5 by 3 centimeters folded, so it slips into a tackle box or pocket. Anglers who want one compact tool for the bank, boat or dock can reach for it instead of carrying several.

Best for

  • Boating and fishing trips with limited tackle space
  • Measuring and quick-weighing fish catches
  • Anglers who want one tool instead of a dozen

Skip if

  • You prefer dedicated high-quality tools for each task
  • You fish small creeks where only a knife matters

Strengths

  • All 10 functions compact into a pocket-sized tool
  • Stainless steel resists salt and fresh water
  • Includes built-in weight scale and tape measure

Trade-offs

  • No single tool performs as well as dedicated gear
  • Folded size is stiff to open with cold hands
  • Scale accuracy limited to approximate weights
