Quick take
A foldable drop net with soft hoop and rope for pier and bank crabbing or general netting.
This is a folding drop net for pier and bridge fishing, built around a 24 by 34 inch nylon net on a collapsible hoop. It weighs about 0.27 kilograms and folds down for carrying, so it suits anglers who need to lift a catch up to a high deck. A drawstring closure and a rubber grip make it easy to handle on a pier.
Best for
- Pier and dock fishing for crabs or bait
- Shrimping and small fish collection
- Bank fishing in calm water
Skip if
- You fish moving water where rope tangles
- You need to land large game fish
Strengths
- Soft steel hoop won't damage boat or pier
- Folds flat for easy storage and transport
- 32 ft rope gives reach from high docks
Trade-offs
- Drop nets are slow compared to swing nets
- Soft hoop can deform under heavy weight
- Dual-line design may tangle if not careful
