Quick take
Self-retracting deck-mount straps that hold fishing rods secure and organized on a boat or dock.
This is a two-pack of self-retracting rod straps in nylon and plastic, made to hold rods flat against a boat deck or gunwale. The straps pull out to wrap rods and draw back in when released, so the deck stays clear between trips. It mounts to the deck and comes with mounting screws, though you will need to cut an opening in the deck or gunwale first. Anglers running several rods across a boat who want them kept in line will find it a handy way to organize them.
Best for
- Securing multiple rods at high speed on a boat deck
- Keeping rods organized and untangled
- Deck mounting where permanent installation is acceptable
Skip if
- You fish from shore or a temporary location
- You need to mount rods without drilling into the deck
Strengths
- Self-retracting design keeps slack managed and organized
- Hold more than 5 rods without tangling
- Nylon resists hook penetration damage
Trade-offs
- Installation requires cutting holes in the deck or gunwale
- Fixed mounting means permanent boat modification
- Not portable for different boats or temporary setups
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
