Quick take
A 5.9-inch saltwater popper with ABS construction, Teflon hooks, and integrated through-wire design for casting distance and durability against large fish.
This blue popper measures 5.9 inches and weighs 2.29 ounces, a size suited to casting from the surf or a boat for striped bass, sharks and offshore pelagics. The blue finish pairs with 3D eyes and a steel ball that rattles on the retrieve for a splashy topwater action. It is a good pick for anglers who want a blue option for the same surface work.
Best for
- Surf casting for striped bass and larger inshore species
- Offshore casting from boats for tuna and larger saltwater fish
- Anglers fishing rough saltwater conditions
Skip if
- You fish freshwater species
- You prefer subsurface presentations
Strengths
- Integrated through-wire system resists hook breakage under heavy load
- Large mouth design creates surface disturbance and commotion
- ABS material won't crack or paint off from saltwater use
Trade-offs
- Treble hooks snag easily and are not suitable for catch-and-release
- 5.9-inch size limits use to larger rods and reels

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
