Quick take
Spring-loaded slip bobbers in assorted sizes for suspended live-bait fishing at variable depths.
This is a five-piece set of oval spring slip bobbers with a balsa-style body, sized at 1 inch by 0.7 inch with a 6 inch overall length. The spring lets you slide the float along the line to set a depth, or twist it to hold in place as a fixed float. Bright fluorescent paint makes the float easy to watch, which suits crappie, panfish and walleye fishing with light baits.
Best for
- Panfish under the ice or in shallow water
- Crappie and walleye suspended at depth
- Float-and-suspend presentations
Skip if
- Fixed-depth shallow presentations
- Windy conditions
Strengths
- Spring loading makes bobber extremely sensitive to bites
- Slip design lets you fish any depth up to the stop
- Fluorescent paint is visible at distance
Trade-offs
- Spring mechanism can fail after hard use
- Slip style requires a stop knot on main line
- Balsa wood can crack if dropped
