Quick take
Canvas and rubber gloves that slip over lures and baits to protect hooks and prevent snags.
This set holds six red lure covers, each about 6 inches long, that slip over a rigged lure and keep its hooks from catching on seats, clothing or fingers. Rubber backing and canvas make up each cover, and a drawstring closure holds it on the bait. They suit anglers who carry rods rigged and ready in a truck, boat or tackle cabinet.
Best for
- Storing lures on rods in vehicle seats
- Protecting bare hooks on tackle-box shelves
- Preventing hook snags on boat upholstery
Skip if
- You store lures in a well-organized tackle box
- You prefer traditional lure wraps
Strengths
- Canvas and rubber backing protects both lure and storage surface
- One hand-size fits most lures and baits
- Colored design prevents accidentally leaving them behind
Trade-offs
- Six gloves cover fewer lures than a dedicated tackle box
- Canvas absorbs water and can trap moisture if stored wet
- Only available in red color
