Quick take

Bronze offset worm hooks with barbs on the shank to hold soft plastics in place during casts and retrieves.

This Tru Turn 2/0 hook is a spear-point J hook in bronze, with medium wire and two worm barbs, sold in a box of 45. Its bronze finish and barbs suit Carolina-rigged plastics and other soft baits for bass. It is an option for anglers who want a full box of bronze worm hooks in one size.

Best for

  • Carolina rigs and worm fishing with plastic soft baits
  • Bass fishing where barbed hooks are the standard
  • Anglers who tie their own rigs and want bulk hooks

Skip if

  • You use live worms only; the barbs make live baits flutter less
  • You want non-offset points for better hook sets

Strengths

  • Worm barbs secure soft plastics so they stay put through casts
  • Offset point hooks fish better when line pressure is vertical
  • Bronze finish resists corrosion better than bare steel

Trade-offs

  • Worm barbs make it harder to back the hook out of deeply hooked fish
  • Offset point is less effective when fish pull at an angle
  • Bronze finish is not true stainless; it will eventually oxidize
