Quick take

Pre-rigged TPE swimbaits with segmented body for natural swimming action and superior tear-resistance versus PVC.

This is a 3.5-inch paddle-tail soft swimbait weighing 0.4 oz, sold in a pack of 3 and already rigged with a hook so it is ready to tie on and cast. The soft TPE body and weedless design suit fishing around cover, and it targets bass, trout, crappie and walleye as well as redfish and striped bass. It makes an easy choice for newer anglers who want to skip the rigging.

Best for

  • Searching large areas for active fish
  • Matching small baitfish patterns
  • Beginners to lure fishing

Skip if

  • You prefer handmade jigs
  • You fish heavy weeds only

Strengths

  • TPE material is 10x tear-resistant compared to PVC soft baits
  • Segmented body pulses and quivers on both retrieve and fall
  • Pre-rigged means no setup time needed to start fishing

Trade-offs

  • Pre-rigged means hook and weight cannot be customized
  • TPE must be stored separately from PVC to avoid degradation
  • Larger sizes and weights have more selection than available

About this type

A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.

Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.

Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
