Quick take
A collapsible galvanized steel wire basket with twin trap doors for holding and accessing fish, shrimp and crabs without water loss.
A round, collapsible live fish basket made from galvanized steel wire, sized at roughly 13 by 22 inches. It folds down for carrying and has spring doors on the top and bottom for putting fish in and taking them out. A fit for wade anglers and shore anglers who want to keep panfish or small trout alive in the water while they keep fishing.
Best for
- Keeping fish alive during a panfish or trout outing
- Portable live storage that collapses for travel
- Saltwater fishing for crabs and shrimp
Skip if
- You need a large capacity basket; step up to the 15x23 in size
- You fish very rocky areas; hard surfaces puncture the wire
Strengths
- Galvanized steel resists rust in salt and fresh water
- Collapsible design takes minimal space in a pack
- Twin doors enable easy access without lifting fish out
Trade-offs
- Wire openings can stress fish with scales
- Limited capacity for large catches
- Galvanized coating may wear away over seasons of use
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
